Do you have an interest in turning your research project into a compelling story for a general audience? Consider\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSf5XNzizlTBSUkOJ1S2jfQHLqqQVT861Vd2qkiMk_-EOMqUZw\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signing up<\/a> for the 3rd Annual <a href=\"http:\/\/news.mit.edu\/2019\/department-biology-hosts-second-annual-science-slam-0429\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Science Slam<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Following the success of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLQP_CKXP8TdQnaVQFyhKv74knPkkV2vVc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">last year\u2019s event<\/a>, the Biology Department is sponsoring a special Colloquium once again \u2014 the Science Slam \u2014 that gives 8-10 graduate students and postdocs a chance to present their research in three minutes with just one slide. Participants will compete to earn favor with audience members and judges, and the winner will earn a cash prize. The Science Slam will take the place of regular Colloquium on <strong>Tuesday, April 7 in 32-123 at 4 p.m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Interested in hearing more and getting help putting your story together? Join former Slammers Moni Avello and Emma Kowal for a science communication workshop on <strong>Monday, March 9 in 68-674<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>at 4 p.m.<\/strong> Note that you can attend the workshop even if you don&#8217;t intend to participate in the Slam, but you must attend the workshop in order to participate in the Slam. Please <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSf5XNzizlTBSUkOJ1S2jfQHLqqQVT861Vd2qkiMk_-EOMqUZw\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sign up<\/a>\u00a0for the workshop in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Questions?
