Are you a grad student or postdoc in the Department of Biology? Do you have an interest in turning your research project into a compelling story for a general audience? Consider\u00a0signing up<\/a> for the 3rd Annual Science Slam<\/a>!<\/p>\n Following the success of\u00a0last year\u2019s event<\/a>, the Biology Department is sponsoring a special Colloquium once again \u2014 the Science Slam \u2014 that gives 8-10 graduate students and postdocs a chance to present their research in three minutes with just one slide. Participants will compete to earn favor with audience members and judges, and the winner will earn a cash prize. The Science Slam will take the place of regular Colloquium on Tuesday, April 7 in 32-123 at 4 p.m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Interested in hearing more and getting help putting your story together? Join former Slammers Moni Avello and Emma Kowal for a science communication workshop on Monday, March 9 in 68-674<\/strong>\u00a0at 4 p.m.<\/strong> Note that you can attend the workshop even if you don’t intend to participate in the Slam, but you must attend the workshop in order to participate in the Slam.
