The program is co-sponsored with the Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines with funding from the National Science Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Teachers from schools with low MCAS scores in science are especially encouraged to apply. There is a limit of two teachers per school.<\/p>\n<h2>Program Features<\/h2>\n<p>The workshop is limited to 16 participants who receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Materials and reagents to take back to their school<\/li>\n<li>Up to 40 professional development points (PDPs) per week<\/li>\n<li>An opportunity to enroll their class in other science outreach programs sponsored by the Biology Department during the school year<\/li>\n<li>A stipend<\/li>\n<li>Free parking<\/li>\n<li>Breakfast and lunch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"cta-btn\" href=\"http:\/\/cbmm.mit.edu\/diversity\/summer-workshop-teachers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \u201dno noreferrer\">Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please note the July 2020 program has been canceled.\u00a0 The Teachers&#8217; Workshop is an annual program specifically designed to provide both new and experienced teachers a dynamic setting in which they can gain new insight into modern biology, and the opportunity to develop and integrate new curriculum material into their science classes.
