It\u00a0is an informal postdoctoral researcher-led forum for the postdocs at the Institute to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meet and exchange information concerning postdoctoral welfare<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Generate awareness about local and national policy issues that impact the science and welfare of postdocs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organize events, seminars, and courses to aid career development<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organize events that contribute to the Department of Biology and the local scientific community<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The MIT Postdoctoral Association (PDA) is structured according to the guidelines of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalpostdoc.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Postdoctoral Association<\/a> (NPA)\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and is supported by the Office of the Vice President of Research (VPR).<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"cta-btn\" href=\"https:\/\/postdocs.mit.edu\/about\/join-postdoc-mailing-list\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Join the Mailing List<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Local Postdoctoral Associations<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, there are a number of postdoc associations tied to individual research locations in the extended MIT Biology community, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/biology.mit.edu\/postdoctoral\/life-as-a-postdoc\/postdoc-associations\/building-68-postdoc-association\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biology Building 68 Postdoc Association<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/wi.mit.edu\/people\/postdoctoral\/wipda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Whitehead Institute Postdoc Association<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Broad Institute <a href=\"https:\/\/www.broadinstitute.org\/what-broad\/administration\/nextgen-association-postdocs-and-grad-students\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NextGen Association for Postdocs and Graduate Students<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bcs.mit.edu\/postdoctoral-research\/postdoctoral-association-and-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BCS Postdoctoral Association and Committee<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Several research locations have email lists that serve the postdocs at those locations.
